Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

All the submissions must meet the highest standards of research and should adhere to the guidelines provided by the journal, and must be of broad interest to the community of Accounting, Finance, and Economics. The following are some of the topical subject areas relevant to the journal.

  • Asset pricing, corporate finance, banking; market microstructure
  • Emerging economies: finance, audit committees, corporate governance
  • Behavioral and experimental finance; law and finance
  • Event studies focusing on the impact of the Global Financial Crisis and COVID-19 Pandemic Crisis on firms and financial markets
  • Islamic finance, accounting, and auditing
  • Equity analysis and valuation, venture capital and IPOs
  • National GAAP and IAS compliance, harmonization, and strategies
  • Financial measurement and non-financial/disclosure, and the quality of information reported
  • Accountability and social/ethical/environmental measurement/reporting
  • Cultural, political, institutional impact on financial measurement/disclosure
  • Accounting practices for intellectual capital and other intangible assets
  • Provision of non-audit services and impairment to auditor independence
  • Audit quality and auditor skills; internal control/auditing
  • Management accounting, control, and /use of key performance indicators
  • Accounting education and professional development, accounting history
  • Public sector and not-for-profit accounting

The contributions to the existing body of knowledge are assessed before deciding on accepting a manuscript for publication. All submissions go through a double-blind peer-review process. Authors are required to certify that the submitted article is not copyrighted and has neither been accepted for publication nor is it under review in any other journal. Author (s) must disclose any conflict of interest and will transfer the copyright to the SAMR if the paper is accepted for publication in AFRJ.
