Accuracy of Cerebroumblical Pulsatility Index Ratio in Intrauterine Growth Restriction in Third Trimester as a Predictor of Adverse Perinatal Outcome
Accuracy of Cerebroumblical Pulsatility Index Ratio
Abstract
In pregnancy, good uteroplacental circulation is most important in good fetal growth and normal pregnancy outcome. Pregnancies, along with specific risk factors, have a high incidence of complications and complicating in intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR).
OBJECTIVE: To calculate the accuracy of Cerebroumblical Pulsatility Index Ratio in Intrauterine Growth Restriction in Third Trimester as a Predictor of Adverse Perinatal Outcome
METHODS: It was a cross-sectional study among 102 pregnant women selected through nonprobability purposive sampling technique visiting Irfan Medical Complex, Faisalabad. The collected data through questionnaire were analyzed by using SPSS 25.0. Sensitivity and specificity was calculated.
RESULTS: Color doppler, and adequate doppler waveforms in all 103 cases with IUGR and monitor until deliver of the fetus was performed. 51% (n=52) of the mothers had Pregnancy-induced Hypertension, Gestational Diabetes Mellitus 0 reported in 10.7% (n=11). CPR (MCA/UA PI Ratio) was sensitive e about (81.5% sensitivity) in most cases. Cerebroplacental Ratio (CPR) was specific as (Specificity=88.0%). Negative Predictive Value (NPV) of CPR was found to be 92.9%. CPR had (PPV=70.9%) positive Predictive Value. Diagnostic accuracy of CPR (Accuracy=86.3%) was good in predicting adverse outcomes.
CONCLUSIONS: Henceforth, Doppler study utilization gives data that is not promptly acquired from an increasingly ordinary trial of fetal prosperity. It in this manner, a significant task to carry out in the forecast of IUGR fetus.
