JUVENILE SLE WITH OVERLAP SYNDROME
Abstract
A rare case of Systemic Lupus Erythematous (SLE) is presented which developed into Systemic Lupus Erythematous / Diffuse Systemic sclerosis “Overlap Syndrome”. Overlap Syndrome are quite rare as few case repots have described them in literature. An eighteen years old girl was admitted in Rheumatology ward of Sheikh Zayed Hospital Lahore. She came with the history of fever, joint pains and photosensitivity from last four years. She had been diagnosed earlier as Rheumatoid Arthritis in different private setups. On admission, increased joint pains and swelling, photosensitivity, oral ulcers, Arthritis, puffy fingers, dysphagia, ulcerated tips, Raynaud’s phenomenon. Her autoantibody profile described synchroneity for ANA, Anti dsDNA, Anti Topoisomerase and Anti RNP/Sm. Patient conforms the criteria for both SLE and diffuse SSc. In conclusion overlap among connective tissue diseases may be found so sequential follow up for both physical examination and serological finding is endorsed.
