Abstract

On January 7, 2022, a team of doctors at Baltimore Hospital in the United States succeeded in transplanting a pig's heart into a human body. It seems that this discovery will eliminate the need to transplant the organs of one human being into another human being and this need will be met by the organs of pigs. With the success of this medical research, the door of  jurisprudential debate has also opened on it. Since eating pork is Haraam and according to the majority of jurists it is Najis al-Ain, how can any of its organs be transplanted into the body of a Muslim in the presence of its Haraam and Najasat?  That is the question that is being debated. If we look at the previous work on this subject, then there are Fatwas of some scholars in this regard. These scholars have only allowed it out of necessity and compulsion. It would have been sufficient to mention only their arguments and jurisprudential grounds in this research article, but there are other jurisprudential aspects of this discussion which must be mentioned. Therefore, other jurisprudential reasons for this issue will be discussed in this research article, apart from necessity and compulsion,  so that the true nature of this issue can be explained.
