Abstract

The current study critically analyses the preferential characteristics of the study of Hadith, and Seerah of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) in case of conflict which arises among the experts of the both. All the branches of Islamic knowledge rely on the authentic traditions which are attributed to the Holy Prophet (S.A.W). The major sources of knowledge in Islamic tradition are based on the narrations which have been reported to us by the narrators. There are different parameters to evaluate the authenticity of Hadith and there is a consensus on several particulars of the parameters of the traditions of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W). However, there exist some variant thoughts on some principles of difference between Hadith and Seerat among the scholars. The current study focuses to discuss the line of demarcation between Hadith and Sunnah in the form of conflict among the experts. The review of the existing literature reveals that the most of the conflicts are based on misapprehension.  The qualitative research approach has been used for the current study using interpretive school of thought. The study concludes that if the narration is high in authenticity the preference will be given the point of view of Muhaddissin.
